About Us In New Zealand    Simon Barker, our winemaker, has made wine in Napa, Sancerre, the Languedoc, Greece and even England before settling down in Marlborough where he is into his 7th vintage. His view on making Sauvignon Blanc in Marlborough is that wines are "made" in the vineyard rather than the winery.  Vanessa Barker is an experienced viticulturalist responsible for the development of the family vineyard and is an invaluable resource as she works with Simon to "make wine in the vineyard". In the USA    Ed Barker is a partner at Grange Wine Marketing in Massachusetts. He is responsible for sales and marketing of Barker's Marque wines.  His aim is to deliver distinctly different wines in a fun package. Barker's Marque would like to thank the postgraduates at Emerson College, Boston for their ideas and assistance in developing the branding and wine packaging.   John Grange is Ed's partner at the US importers, Grange Wine Marketing, and an industry veteran. He and his team offer fine wines to New England's wine lovers and superior support to the retailers and restaurants who serve them. He represents wines from Europe, California and New Zealand and more than 50,000 cases.   Barker's Marque wines are available in the USA in Massachusetts and New Jersey. We are actively seeking distributors in other states. In Europe    Barker's Marque's Arona wine is on sale in France, Belgium and Luxembourg. Ed and Simon are British and keep in close touch with the rest of their family still domiciled there. They hope to introduce their wines to their home country in the near future.
